Interpretations and Inspirations

Tinkerbelle Too Point Oh…

It’s always nice to see how Tinkerbelle’s voyage continues to inspire modern sailors and boat builders. Paul Jenkins wrote us in 2008 about his restoration of a small wooden boat along the same lines as Manry’s craft.

Here’s Paul’s progress report from late 2009:

“My little beauty is laid up for the winter but she will come out of her cocoon sometime next April [2010]. I have made arrangements for the Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies in Erie [Pennsylvania] to help me finish the boat. It’s about ninety-five percent finished, but it will be great to have the kids at the center get some hands-on experience with the boat and the launching that will be part of their school work.”
